JAMMU, Sept 9: Aesh Goswami bagged men’s singles title, while the pair of Vipul Saini and Raghav Dogra claimed the men’s doubles event as the 33rd Jammu District Badminton Championships-2018 concluded at Police Line Badminton Hall, here today.
Aesh defeted five-time champion Vipul Saini in men’s singles in straight sets, while in men’s doubles pair of Vipul Saini and Raghav Dogra beat Vasu Bhagat and Sunil Bakshi.
OD Sharma, Chairman J&K Badminton Association and Vice President Badminton Association of India was the chief guest on the valedictory function, who distributed the prizes among the winners and runners-up teams.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Gulzar Singh Slathia, former IGP, Ramesh Kotwal, SSP HQ Jammu, Liaqat Ali, SSP, Sultan Mirza, Som Raj Gupta, Organising Secretary, Basanti Bhat, Kirti Sharma, Anil Gurkha, Satpal Sharma, Balbir Singh Jamwal, General Secretary, Jammu City and District Badminton Association, besides large number of sports lovers including parents.
Meanwhile, the winners in other categories included Shourya Pratham, Snowy Goswami, Sarthak Jain, Sarthak Jain-Bhavdeep Singh, Krishika-Sambhavi, Aesh-Dheeraj, Pranjal-Unnati, Sehdev-Sarabpreet, Rashmi-Poorvi, Sarabpreet-Poorvi, Vasu-Poorvi, Raghav-Rupal, Rahul Jain-Nipun Jain, Romesh Sharma, Sanjay Jain-Romesh Sharma, Narinder Khajuria-Romesh Sharma and Dr PD Gupta-Harish Chander.
