Agarwal inaugurates Annual Sports Meet at Govt Polytechnic

JAMMU, Nov 24: Director General Youth Services and Sports, Navin Agarwal, today inaugurated annual sports week being organized by Government Polytechnic Bikram Chowk from November 24 to 29, 2014.
During the weeklong event, inter department tournaments will be held in Cricket, Volleyball, Table Tennis, Badminton, Chess, Carrom and other disciplines.
Speaking on the occasion, Navin Agarwal, called upon the students to actively participate in sports activities alongwith academics for their mental and physical development.
Complementing the Principal and staff for organizing such mega event, Navin said that such activities can provide a better platform to the budding sports persons. He said that such occasions help spot talented sportspersons for their further grooming enabling them compete at national and International level.
In his welcome address, Principal of the College, Arun Bangotra gave detailed presentation of chronology of events that will take place in the week long meet.
Among others Deputy Director Youth Services and Sports, Kanchan Bala, Chairman Annual Sports Meet, Inderjeet Singh, K.S. Bhatia, Rakesh Kakkar, faculty members and students in large number were present on the occasion.
