JAMMU, Mar 22: Central Bureau of Investigation/ Anticorruption Bureau Jammu has registered a case against B S Linganaik, the then AGE E/M Water Supply of Garrison Engineer Udhampur and Shagun Builder for claiming Rs 5,87,265 on the basis of fraudulent and manipulated invoice against the purchase of steel pipes in the year 2011.
It was alleged that during the year 2011, Shagun Builder was awarded special repair to the existing water pipe line between Dhar Road Military Station and Udhampur being lowest bidder for the amount of Rs 1772439.30. The contractor showed procurement of 49 pierces of steel pipes for Rs 587265 vide Invoice No 1219 of March 6, 2012.
However, the contractor connived with BS Linganaik, the then AGE E/M and unknown officials of MES, who abused their official position and facilitated claim on the forged invoice and caused wrongful loss to the Government exchequer to the tune of Rs 587265.
After registration of FIR, CBI raided the house of Jia Lal Khajuria and Rita Devi, partners of Shagun Builder.
