AGS, SBI organize financial quiz for students

SRINAGAR, Dec 4: Army Goodwill School (AGS) at Hanjik in collaboration with State Bank of India (SBI) today organized a financial quiz for the students of class 8th to 10 in a bid to create financial awareness in central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
A Defence spokesman said here that the initiative to undertake financial awareness drive was undertaken by Chinar Corps and SBI in association with management of AGS has been able to capitalise on the opportunity. The Manager of SBI Branch at Fruit Mandi in Budgam, G M Rather was present during the event and clarified finer aspects of financial management to the students during an informal interaction, he said.
The spokesman said: “The students were handed over a questionnaire one week prior to the conduct of quiz test and the questions were within its framework. The students who excelled in the quiz test were felicitated during a prize distribution ceremony following the test. An overwhelming response was generated amongst the young students to understand the importance of financial management in today’s life.”
The Regional Manager of SBI, Fayaz Ahmed Wani was chief guest on the occasion. “He motivated the young generation to understand and excel in the field of financial management. The efforts would go a long way in enhancing the awareness of students on financial matters and will empower them in choosing a stream for higher studies,” the defence spokesman added.
