SRINAGAR, Mar 26: In the ongoing Srinagar edition of 28th Annual Football Championship, two matches were played at TRC Turf Ground, here today.
The first match was played between Hyderya Sports and DFA Ganderbal-XI wherein DFA Ganderbal XI had already qualified for Srinagar edition from South. Both the teams played a fantastic game but Hyderya Sports Club dominated the game in 2nd half and registered fantastic win over DFA Ganderbal-XI by 6-1 goals.
The second match was played between AGs XI & SCFA-XI. The young turks of SCFA-XI’s Parvez made a beautiful move in 20th minute of 1st half of the game and scored a magnificent goal which surprised everyone. Immediately after the goal, the AG’s XI players pulled their soaks and made a counter move and succeeded in levelling the score in 22nd minutes of the game. The goal was scored by Hanan.
In the dying movements of the match, the AGs XI missed two good chances to score goal but SCFA boys didn’t lose courage and attacked the defence line of AGs XI number of times but they also failed to find the net. Thus the match was ended with 1:1 goal draw. Thereafter the match was decided in tie breaker in which AGs XI defeated SCFA XI by 5-4 goals.
The tournament is being organised by JKFA in collaboration with J&K Sports Council.
