JAMMU, Dec 1: AIIMS Jammu has secured a victory in the Women’s Chess Championship at CONVOQUER 2024, an inter collegiate sports fest organized by IIT Jammu, recently.
The Championship saw AIIMS Jammu’s MBBS students competing against six renowned institutions, including IIT Jammu and Jammu University, in a highly competitive Swiss-format tournament.
The victorious AIIMS Jammu team, comprising Alna A. Soni, Kanchan Lata, Rakhi Mittal, and Ghazal Chawla, displayed exceptional skill and strategic brilliance throughout the competition, ultimately securing the championship with a total of 9.5 points. Their remarkable performance has earned them recognition for their determination and tactical acumen.
This victory highlights the strong leadership of Prof. Dr. Shakti Kumar Gupta, Executive Director & CEO of AIIMS Jammu, whose vision to promote excellence in academics and extracurricular activities has been instrumental in the team’s success.
