AIKS asks Govt to deal sensitively with KPs in Valley

JAMMU, Sept 23: All India Kashmiri Samaj (AIKS) expressed its concern on the indifferent attitude of the JKUT administration leading to community members sitting on fast-unto-death in Srinagar. It expressed its solidarity with Kashmiri Pandit Sangarsh Samiti (KPSS) for its struggle to get its due share from the JKUT administration.
In an emergency virtual meet called to take stock of the situation, AIKS Core Group presided over by its president Col (red) Tej K Tikoo criticized the administration for the neglect of the Kashmiri Hindu society staying back in the Valley in difficult conditions. Despite the orders issued by various authorities, the lower-rung functionaries of the Government do not implement those orders in letter and spirit. AIKS deplores such insensitivity towards the remnants of the KP community in the Valley.
Dealing compassionately with the Kashmiri Hindus who did not leave Kashmir in 1989-90, will clearly reflect upon the Government’s desire to convince the displaced community to return to the Valley.
AIKS appealed to the Lt. Governor Jammu & Kashmir to save the life of community leader, Sanjay Tikoo, fasting-unto-death in Ganesh Ji’s temple (Ganpatiyar) at Srinagar, along with some community activists. Their demands are just and fair and must be acceded to said AIKS.
They are demanding an enquiry against the officials of Relief & Rehabilitation Department for stalling and sabotaging relief and rehabilitation of Kashmiri Pandits living in the Valley, implementation of High Court directions and recommendation of the Union Ministry of Home Affairs regarding the provision of jobs to unemployed none-migrant youth of the community, one time relaxation in the age for employment on compassionate grounds, providing bonafide certificates as per SRO 425 dated 10 October 2017, relief to 808 non-migrant families living in Kashmir and allotting accommodation to deserving people living in Kashmir.
The minority community of Kashmir continues to be discriminated against by the insensitive individuals in the administration. AIKS appealed to the Government of JKUT to end this discrimination.
