Air Force Station Jammu wins WAC Inter Area Hockey C’ship

JAMMU, Aug 5: Air Force Station Jammu organized Western Air Command (WAC) Inter Area Hockey Championship 2017-18, which concluded, here today.
The aim of the event was to promote sportsmanship in hockey and select players to refine skills for further participation at the higher levels in Air Force and the Nationals.
Four teams from WAC namely Jammu, Ambala, Adampur and Halwara participated for the coveted championship.
Adampuur Hockey team was defending champion of this tournament.
It is pertinent to mention here that Air Force Station Jammu hosted this Championship for the fifth consecutive year. The entire tournament was played in round robin format. The Championship had begun on August 2, 2017 at KK Hakku Astroturf Stadium, here.
The final match was played between Jammu and Adampur teams.
In a very interesting final match, Air Force Station Jammu won the WAC Inter Area Hockey Championship.
Finally, chief guest Air Officer Commanding Air Force Station Jammu declared the WAC Inter Area Hockey Championship 2017-18 closed.
