‘Airtel Endurance Ride’ kicked off

Airtel Endurance Ride being kicked off in Srinagar on Thursday.

JAMMU, Nov 7: Bharti Airtel, a leading global telecommunications company with operations in 20 countries across Asia and Africa, today announced the kick-off of the “Airtel Endurance Ride”, a fund raising mission of Aditya Mehta, renowned amputee cyclist and silver medalist at Asian Para-cycling.
The 3800 km ride will cover 8 states and 36 Indian cities and raise funds for ‘Aditya Mehta Foundation’ for amputees to provide artificial limbs, fund their education and also help provide sports equipment and prosthesis especially designed for the physically challenged, who have aspirations for sports.
Aditya Mehta from Hyderabad will cover a distance of 3800 kilometers in 36 days from Kashmir to Kanyakumari on a road bike.
Through the expedition, Aditya, who has lost his right leg 8 years ago in a road accident, will be accompanied by a doctor, a cycle mechanic and his prosthetic expert. Aditya will be joined by local cycling clubs in solidarity of his gargantuan ride.
