KATRA, June 2: Wrestler Ajay Sharma of Landen Power House, Udhampur Patha Vijay Singh (Biju) lifted the 5th Annual Nomain Kesari Dangal Title 2017, organized by Kotli-Bajallian Dangal Committee in collaboration with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association, under the overall supervision of President J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association, Shiv Kumar Sharma, Chairman Nomain Dangal Committee, Ved Parkash Pujari and General Secretary Mohd Sharif at Deva Mai Road Nomain, here today.
55 bouts were played in the event.
In the first malli main bout, Wrestler Ajay Sharma defeated Wrestler Talab of Mallerkotla, Punjab in a very tough bout that lasted for 19 minutes.
The winner was awarded with cash prize of Rs 5,000 along with Mata Ki Chunni, while runners-up Wrestler got Rs 4,000.
SP Katra, Sumir Kotwal was the chief guest on the occasion who distributed cash prizes among the Wrestlers. Joint Secretary J&K State Sports Council Shiv Kumar Sharma presided over the function.
Block Medical Officer Katra, Dr Gopal Dath, SHO Katra Arvind Singh Sambyal and Naresh Kumar (Pappu Lakri), General Secretary Reasi District Indian Style Wrestling Association were the guests of honour.
