JAMMU, Dec 17: A delegation of All J&K Agriculture Officers Welfare Forum (AJKAOWF) called on Chief Secretary, B R Sharma and demanded mitigation of unending problems of the agriculture officers.
The delegation said that the Agriculture Department has failed to settle seniority/ DPC/Time bound promotions /reorganization and restructuring of Department, repeal of faulty service rules of 1988 and allied matters pertaining to agriculture fraternity.
They said that the seniority and DPC of officers cadre since 1972 remains unsettled and the retired officers are getting the meager entry level pension consequently. Even A G office has blocked their gratuities pending DPC, they alleged.
They said that the officers of Agriculture Department are retiring on the same post on which they were recruited which is a grave injustice with them and no life time promotion is given to a vast majority of employees in Agriculture Department.
The delegation made a fervent plea for consideration of time bound promotions on the pattern of veterinarians for assured career progression and they also apprised the CS that the file in this regard is pending Finance Department for consideration. Since the stagnation in the Department has no parallels, it should be considered compassionately to boost morale of cadres, the delegation demanded.
