REASI, Aug 4: Demanding early implementation of the New Education Policy-2020 , All Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh Teachers Federation (AJKLTF) J&K UT, Affiliated with Akhil Bhartiya Rashtriya Shaikshik Mahasangh (ABRSM) termed it as a major initiative to deal with the new challenges of 21st Century in Education Sector.
Addressing a press conference, here today, Rattan Sharma- State General Secretary, AJKLTF, said that the New Education Policy for School Education on 5+3+3+4 pattern based on Indian perspective focuses on character-building and moral values , establish beautiful coordination of modern technology with our everlasting rich cultural heritage . “The Policy also focuss on to inculcate the social and moral values not to make India literate but to make India educated in this era of modern technology, “ he added.
He widely welcome the NEP-2020 in which the system of appointment of teachers on transparent basis, restoring the dignity of teachers and participation in educational administration are commendable.
“The NEP-2020 aims at making India a global knowledge superpower and the focus on basic literacy and basic numeracy and establishment of National Assessment Centre -PARAKH to assess the student will definitely strengthen the basic academic system in the Country,” Sharma said .
As the New Education Policy also focus on vocational studies at School level, he said that it would help students to identify life skills and by 2025, at least 50 percent of learners through the school and higher education system shall have exposure to vocational education.
Pointing out that the J&K remained disturbed since long mainly because of lack of implementation of Education Policy , AJKLTF demanded the proper implementation of the NEP-2020 in J&K UT so that the students may compete with their counterparts studying in other metro cities or educational-hubs.
