JAMMU, July 27: All Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh Teachers Federation organized an Education Conference, here today for highlighting the rights and duties of a good teacher and celebrating ‘Guru Bandan’ function.
MLA Jammu West, Sat Sharma was the chief guest on the occasion while Ram Dev Vishwan than, Vice-Chancellor of Sanskrit Vidyapeeth, was the chief spokesperson.  The conference was presided over by the Federation president Mohan Singh and general secretary Rattan Lal.
Speaking on the occasion, Vishwanathan said that teaching is not an ordinary occupation but a noble cause because society and nation can not progress without the contribution of a teacher.
MLA Sat Sharma assured the teachers to protect their rights and said that he would take up their issues like transfer policy, pay anomalies, time-bound promotion etc with the Education Minister Naeem Akhter and Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh.
The prominent among others, who spoke on the occasion, included Daljit Singh, Maheshwar Prasad, Vijay Kumar, Agya Kour, Kuldeep Singh, Iqbal Hussain, Yash Pal, Tilak Raj, Ravinder Verma, Arun Sharma, Narinder Bakshi, Koushal Bakshi, Satish Chanda, Angrez Sharma, Raghubir Singh, and others.
