Akhnoor Wrestler Yuvraj lifts Bidda Dangal Title

REASI, June 9: Wrestler Yuvraj of Akhnoor, Jammu lifted ’11th Annual Bidda (Reasi) Dangal Title 2024′ by defeating wrestler Mam Hussian of Domel in the 1st malli main bout that lasted for 14 minutes.
The Dangal was organized by Bidda Dangal Committee in Association with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association under the overall supervision of contractor Ram Ratten (President) and Sukhdev Sharma (Chairman).
Former Joint Secretary Sports J&K State Sports Council and President J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association Shiv Kumar Sharma graced the occasion as the chief guest who gave away cash prizes to the wrestlers.
Former Sarpanch Ravi Kumar, Contractor Ajit, former Naib Sarpanch Gulshan Kesar and Numberdar Asok Kumar were the guests of honour. The bouts were officiated by Pawan Singh, Nazir Mohd. Harbans Lal, Tulinder Kumar and Murli Dhar (Munna). The proceedings of the Dangal were conducted by Anil Kumar (Reasi).
Winner of 1st malli bout wrestler Yuv Raj was awarded with cash prize of Rs 8,000 while runner-up wrestler got Rs 7,000. Second main bout was won by Surjit Singh of J&K Police, resident of Narkote (Reasi) by defeating Krishan of Delhi. Winner wrestler Surjit Singh was awarded with a cash prize of Rs 6,000 while runner-up wrestler Krishan of Guru Hanuman Akhara Delhi got Rs 5,000.
The 3rd bout was played between Amir Khan of J&K Police and Vishal of Delhi. This bout ended in a draw that lasted for 15 minutes. Cash prize of Rs 11,000 was jointly given to both the wrestlers equally.
In all 74 bouts were played in the one day Dangal and total Rs 2, 00,000 was distributed as cash prizes among the wrestlers. Contractor Ajit contributed Rs 5,100 as financial assistance to the organizers and Ashok Kumar Contractor contributed Rs 11,000.
Members of Bidda Dangal Committee who helped in the conduct of Dangal included Ram Ratten (President), Sukhdev Sharma (Chairman), Shanti Saroop, Mohd. Habeb, Subash Chander, Numberdar Chaman Lal, Vijay Kumar, Puran Chand, Narinder Kumar, Anwar Hussian, Mohd. Arshad, Mohd. Akram, Mohd. Islam, Mohd. Iqbal, Mangi Ram, Ashok Kumar, Mohd. Iqbal, Arun Kumar,Sudesh Kumar and Raj Kumar.
