JAMMU, June 25: The exhibition of recent paintings by renowned artist of the State M Akram Khan was inaugurated by Raman Bhalla Minister for Housing, Culture, Horticulture, Youth Service and Sports at Basement Art Gallery of Amar Mahal Museum Hari Palace Jammu.
The chief guest appreciated the painting of M Akram Khan and said that Akram’s portrays the feelings and pain of marginalized sections of the society.
On the second day hundreds of art lover visit the exhibition and appreciated. The function was among other attended by Prof Neelu Gupta, Madam Raj Bharti, N DJamwal, O P Sharma, Indu Bushan Sharma, S K Raina Field Advisor SIE, Romesh Singh Director BKS and other art lover present on the occasion.
More than 35 work were put on the display in basement Art Gallery of Amar Mahal Museum Jammu.
It may be recalled that Khan received many awards included 4 (four) times best tableaux award, 2011 to 14, Indian Academy of Fine Arts Amritsar-2012, J&K State exhibition-1997, 2010-11, Camlin Award J&K State Exhibition 2004-05 and 2006-07, Best Painting Award from 1st International Art, plus Germany-2002, First All India Art Exhibition Shahabad Karnataka – 1996, Golden Jubilee Art Exhibition Jammu 1992, Student Painting Competition – 1979 and also felicitated by innovative and creative meet Udhampur and Chairman DMCH Ludhiana 2003.
Beside this all most four decades he has been actively participated in national and state level art exhibitions actively.
The exhibition was organized in collaboration with J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages and remain open today.
