JAMMU, Feb 5: Alexander Memorial Higher Secondary School, Eid-Gah, Residency Road, Jammu organised a ‘Reading/Poem Recitation Competition for Hindi and English’ in the school campus, here today.
Radha Nagpal, Director, Wonder World School Gandhi Nagar, Jammu was the chief guest.
The event was held in collaboration with Jammu Literary Festival Kids Yayawar.
Jasleen Kour, Creative Director threw light on the forthcoming Literary Festival Yayawar kids to be held in April, 2020 in Jammu.
Six students participated in the event. The students (1 each) were drawn from MC Khalsa High School, Chand Nagar, Bethel Living Word School Qasim Nagar, New Era Environmental School, Circular Road, Modern Academy, Talab Khatikan, Rhyme Time Play Way Primary Mohalla Dalpatian, SD Tarapuri School Gandhi Nagar, Tiny Tots High School and Alexander Memorial School, Jammu.
Earlier, Esther William, Principal Alexander Memorial School, welcomed the chief guest and the other dignitaries.
The chief guest lauded the efforts of the participating schools and encouraged the young students to actively participate in such cultural and literary activities.
In English Poem Recitation, SD Tarapuri School bagged 1st position, Modern Academy won 2nd place and Bethel Living Word School claimed 3rd position, while in English Reading/Spelling, Atufa of Alexander Memorial School bagged 1st position, Varsha of MC Khalsa School clinched 2nd position and the 3rd position was claimed by Sharvan of Tiny Tots School.
In Hindi Poem Recitation, SD Tarapuri School won 1st position, while the second position went to Bethel Living Word School and the 3rd position was bagged by Alexander Memorial School, while in Hindi reading/Spelling, the 1st , 2nd and 3rd positions went to Vineet of Alexander Memorial School, Kanishka of Tiny Tots School and Rajeshwari of New Era Environmental School respectively.
