JAMMU, Nov 29: Amar Singh Jammu held the Annual Sports Tournament 2013 in the disciplines of weightlifting, bodybuilding, swimming and billiards and snooker.
Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Shantmanu, who happens to be the vice president of the Club was the chief guest in the Prize Distribution Ceremony which was attended by a large number of sportspersons.
Siddarth Sharma, secretary of the Club said that this Annual Sports Tournament was organized after a gap of many years and got a tremendous response, adding that the event will be made an annual feature and more disciplines of sports will be added in the event in future.
In billiards and snooker, Cricket pairs, Nishant Azad and Nikhil emerged winners, while Jaideep Manocha and Charanjot Anand claimed runners-up trophy, while in snooker Under-18 boys, Agamvir was winner and Sanad Sharma runners-up and in snooker handicap, Nishant Azad and Muquadas Sawhney won winners and runners-up trophies.
In billiards open, Jaideep Manocha emerged winner and Nishant Azad as runners-up, while in snooker open, Jaideep Manocha and Vishal Abrol claimed winners and runners-up trophies respectively.
In weightlifting Curling 18-24 boys, Anirudh Kapoor claimed gold; in 25-34, Karthik Gupta bagged gold; in 35-44 Sidharth Mehta clinched gold; in 45-50, Vijay Saraf claimed goldand in above 50, Yogesh Sawhney bagged gold.
In weightlifting Squat, Under-18-24, Vipul Mahajan bagged gold; in 25-34, Karthik Gupta claimed gold; in 35-44, Vikas Anand won gold; in 45-50 Vijay Saraf clinched gold and in above 50, Yogesh Sawhney won gold.
Players vied for the top honours in the disciplines of Swimming, Bodybuilding and other events of weightlifting like dead-lift, bench press etc.
