SRINAGAR : A yatri from Madhya Pradesh (MP) died due to cardiac arrest near the holy cave shrine of Amarnath in South Kashmir, taking the toll to 15 since the commencement of the 48-day-long pilgrimage from July 2.
A yatra official said that a 65-year-old pilgrim, identified as Mohan Lal, resident of Ujjain, MP, suffered a massive cardiac arrest near the cave shrine after the darshan of the self made Ice-Shivlingam.
He was immediately rushed to nearby medical camp where he was declared brought dead.
With this, a total of 13 pilgrims, 12 of them due to cardiac arrest and one in a road accident, have died. A CRPF jawan on security duty also died due to heart attack while a local driver Bilal Ahmad died in a road accident while carrying pilgrims from Srinagar to Jammu. (AGENCIES)
