Amazon Inc recruits 16 MIET students

JAMMU, Apr 17: During campus placement, sixteen final-year students from Model Institute of Engineering and Technology (MIET) got placed in Amazon Inc., Hyderabad at an annual salary package of 3 lakhs per annum.
The selected students are 8 from Computer Science and Engineering, 7 from Electronics and Communication Engine-ering and one from Electrical Engineering. In addition to this, all selected students will receive a joining bonus of Rs 1 lakh among other employee benefits.
The selected students were Shubham Bharadwaj, Rashika Hali, Sarthak Dhar, Ananta Singh, Sonakshi Bhagat, Lakshay Gupta, Kompal Mahajan, Rishabh Pandoh, Sudhanshu Khajuria, Vidushi Mohan, Umar Jahanzeb, Adarsh Sharma, Muhammad Jamaal Laway, Charvi Uppal, Ajay Kumar Rathore and Shruti Pandita. These students have been selected for the Technical Business Analyst profile.
Dr Arun K. Gupta, Chairman MIER, Dr Renu Gupta, Vice-Chairperson MIER, Prof Ankur Gupta, Director MIET and Prof SK Sharma, Director Academics, while congratulating the selected students also complemented the placement team for their outstanding effort and assured greater support to deliver outstanding value to the current and prospective students of at MIET.
Brig PN Sharma, Training and Placement officer attributed the stellar performance of the students to the implementation of the Skill Development Matrix for each student under which specific skills and training are provided to students in a phased manner.
N Srivatsa, HR Manager Amazon complemented the quality of MIET students resulting in a 10 per cent campus selection rate compared to an average campus selection rate of 3-4 per cent across North India.
Prior to the Amazon placement drive, HP-India had recruited 2 students at Rs 4.2 lakh per annum and Infineon Technologies Bengaluru had recruited 5 students as research interns at Rs 3 lakh per annum during campus placements.
