KATHUA, May 4: Outplaying the formidable side of Sabhi Cricket Club Hoshiarpur in an easy contest by 6 wickets in the summit clash, AMC Gurgaon lifted the title trophy of the 5th Police Martyrs Memorial North Zone Inter-Club T20 Cricket Championship at Sports Stadium, here
Earlier, put into bat by AMC skipper, Sabhi Cricket Club scored a paltry total of 95 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 7 wickets in the process.
In reply, AMC made 96 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in 16 overs and won the match by 6 wickets. Chanderpaul Saini of AMC made 27 runs and took 3 important wickets to get man of the match award.
Danesh Rana, IGP Jammu Zone was the chief guest on the valedictory function, Shakeel A Beig, DIG Jammu was the guest of honour. They presented cash prizes and trophies among the teams and players on the occasion.
A cash prize of Rs 21,000 was presented to Chanderpaul Saini of AMC Kathua as man of the match in the final, while Manoj Kumar of AMC Gurgoan was declared best batsman of the tournament and Varu Khanna was declared best bowler, both of them were presented a cash prize of Rs 21, 000.
The winners were presented a cash prize of Rs 2.50 lakh, while the runners-up team received a cash prize of Rs 1.50 lakh.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Neeva Jain, SSP Kathua, Joginder Singh, SSP Samba, Sanjeev Khajuria, Principal PTS Kathua, Nasir Ahmed ASP Kathua, Ajay Kumar Dy SP Hqrs Kathua and Kuljeet Singh Dy (DAR) Kathua were present on the occasion.
Meanwhile, rich tributes were paid to the Martyrs of J&K Police who sacrificed their today for our tomorrow. IGP Jammu also interacted with the Martyrs’ families on the occasion.
