JAMMU, Feb 8: Amit Sharma, Special Secretary to Government, Animal/Sheep Husbandry Department, brought laurels to State when he presented his views on Financial Inclusion and Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) having a great scope in Jammu & Kashmir.
The same perspectives presented about J&K by Amit Sharma were highly applauded and appreciated by the gathering in BFSI Leadership and Awards Summit 2015 held at Mumbai comprising of top CEOs and MDs of Banks, Policy Makers, Statesmen, PSU Heads, etc.
In his keynote address as one of the key speakers of the Summit, Amit Sharma talked at length about how Financial Inclusion can act as a game changer in involvement of masses in overall economic development. He appreciated the role of J&K Bank in fulfilling the targets of opening lakhs of account under Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojna (PMJDY) and generating lot of funds through it despite flood fury and devastation which J&K went through in September last year.
Amit called upon all the bankers to visit J&K and cover all areas of State by opening-up branches, initiating Business Correspondents (BC) models, using Micro-ATMS for far-flung and inaccessible areas of State which is the need of the hour. J&K Bank was represented in the Summit by SS Sehgal, Zonal Head of Maharashtra who accompanied Amit Sharma throughout the Summit.
The Special Secretary also elaborated about the ePRC Solution which he had created while undergoing one-year e-Governance Programme at IIM Indore which can be linked-up with Aadhaar/NPR in J&K and the ePRCs can be generated in J&K by signing an MoU with UIDAI without leaving a burden of single rupee on J&K State exchequer.
The same was highly appreciated by all, especially track chair Ajay Bhushan Pandey who is Deputy Director General, UIDAI, Maharashtra.
Amit was also presented a memento in the BFSI Summit for sharing his innovative ideas as a key speaker and creating awareness about underlying opportunities of Financial Inclusion in J&K.
