JAMMU, July 22: The entire area of Amit Nagar Church Lane has plunged into darkness after the local transformer developed a snag since yesterday.
Triloki Nath Bhat a local representative of the area has urged the PDD authorities to take immediate steps in replacing the transformer as the people especially the old and infirm have been put to many hardships due to power failure in this hot and humid Summer.
In an appeal to Chief Engineer M&RE he sought her immediate intervention in the matter.
Mr Bhat also expressed concern over the condition of lanes and drains in the area and said that due to water-logging on the main Church lane the people are facing many hardships. He demanded immediate construction of drains along the link road to solve the problem.
He also demanded that interior lanes in the colony be also developed. Mr Bhat in an appeal to JMC Commissioner Kiran Wattal has appealed him to issue directives to concerned Executive Engineer to construct drains in the area and also develop the interior lanes.
