AKHNOOR, June 16: Gutsy all-rounder Amritpal Singh scalped 6 important wickets before scoring brilliant 34 runs to help Samar Cricket Club drub Chand Cricket Club by a big margin of 52 runs in the 5th Pawan Memorial T20 Cricket Tournament, organised by Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor, which got underway at Government Higher Secondary School Ground, here today.
The Tournament was inaugurated by SHO Akhnoor, Mahesh Sharma in an impressive and well attended function.
Earlier, batting first, Samar Cricket Club scored a mammoth total of 184 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 9 wickets in the process. Amritpal top scored with 34 runs, while Sahil Kumar, Munna and Naushad contributed 27, 20 and 21 runs to the total respectively. For Chand CC, Rishu was the pick of the bowlers who claimed 4 wickets, while Ashutosh Raina bagged 2 wickets. Deepak, Mohit and Raghav took one wicket apiece.
In reply, Chand CC bundled out for 132 runs, thus lost the match by 52 runs. Mukul Sharma played a magnificent innings of 63 runs, while Ajit Singh contributed 38 runs to the total. Subrat chipped in with 16 runs. Amritpal Singh was the wrecker-in-chief for Samar CC, who captured 6 wickets, while Sourav and Kaka claimed one wicket each.
The match was officiated by Joginder Mangotra and Vikas Bali as umpires, while Ajay was the scorer. The Tournament is being held under the overall supervision of Sham Singh Langeh, organizing secretary of the event.
