Anam, Saalika emerge winner, runner-up in U-14 girls singles category

BUDGAM, June 30: Anam Qadir of International Islamic School emerged winner, whileas Saalika of DPS remained runner-up in under 14 girls singles category during Inter School District Level Badminton Championship, organized by Department of Youth Services and Sports, Budgam at Spring Buds High School, Ompora, Budgam.
In U-14 girls doubles, Falak and Muskrram from DPS emerged winners, whileas Rabeeh Chesti and Anam from International Islamic School remained runner-up.
In U-17 girls singles, Ashia Ali of DPS emerged winner, whileas Asra Zanib of GHSS Budgam remained runner-up.
In U-17 girls doubles, Tanzila and Azra from Spring Buds Ompora crushed Sana and Azra of DPS and emerged winner.
In U-19 girls singles, Nusrat Nabi of GHSS Parniva emerged winner, whileas Afreena of GHSS BK Pora remained runner-up.
In U-19 girls doubles, Suriya Showkat and Ishrat Rashid of GHSS Parniva crushed Afreen and Asifa.
In U-14 boys singles, Syed Riyan of DPS emerged  as winner, whileas Saif Ullah Jamil of International Islamic School remained runner-up.
In U-14 boys doubles, Faraz and Reyan of DPS smashed Mohsin Mushtaq and Abdul Muheed of International Islamic School.
In U-17 boys singles, Shahid of DPS emerged winner, whileas Mohammed Adnan of International Islamic School remained runner-up.
In U-17 boys doubles, Salik and Nisar of DPS outplayed Numan and Mujeeb.
In U-19 boys singles, Muneer Hussain of GHSS Budgam defeated Shakir of GHS Beerwah.
In U-19 boys doubles, Yuneeb and Shahid of GHSS Beerwah crushed Asif and Younis of GHSS Budgam.
In the championship, around 100 players from different institutions of the district participated.
On the valedictory function, District Youth Services and Sports Officer (DYSSO) Budgam Sukhdev Singh was the chief guest, who presented awards to the winner and runner-up players.
He hoped that the players from district Budgam will exhibit remarkable performance in State Championship.
