ANANTNAG, June 24: Anantnag Arsenals thrashed Bandipora Basons by 51 runs in the ongoing Kashmir Premier League (KPL) Phase-II, being organized by Indian Army in collaboration with the Department of Youth Services and Sports and J&K State Sports Council at Sports Stadium, here.
Put into bat, Anantnag Arsenals scored 158 for the loss of 7 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Sartaj was the top scorer with 60 runs, while Shahid Rather contributed 33 runs to the total. Raja Saleem took 2 wickets for Bandipora Basons.
Bandipora Basons, in reply bundled out for a paltry total of 107 runs, thus lost the match by 51 runs. Raja Saleem contributed 33 runs and Nasir Lone scored 28 runs. For Anantnag Arsenals, Shahid Rather was pick of the bowlers, who took 3 important wickets, while Parvez Rasool claimed 2 wickets. Shahid Rather was adjudged man of the match for his all-round display. He was presented a cash prize of Rs 5000 by Captain Tahir on the occasion.
