UT level Carrom tourney concludes

RAMBAN, Mar 17: Inter-District UT level Carrom competition for boys under-17 and under-19 age groups, organized by Department of Youth Services and Sports, concluded here today.
Additional Superintendent of Police, Rajni Sharma was the chief guest, whereas In-charge Principal of the host School, Ranjay Kumar was the guest of honour on the occasion.
In under-19 year age group, the team from Ganderbal bagged the first position, whereas Pulwama and Baramulla secured second and third positions respectively.
Similarly, in under-17 year age group, Anantnag secured the first position while Kupwara and Ganderbal stood second and third respectively.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest advised the students to take part in sports activities apart from curricular activities for the overall personality development. She also appreciated the Youth Services and Sports Department for organizing a UT-level competition in which students from all the districts of the J&K UT participated.
DYSSO, Dharmveer Singh informed that as many as 120 boys from 14 districts of both the divisions participated in the tourney.
Later, the chief guest felicitated the winners and participants with mementos and certificates.
