JAMMU, May 11: Awami National Conference (ANC) has accused the State Government of failing to initiate measures for bringing the power sector in the State back on track.
Taking serious note of “power crisis” prevailing in Jammu region, ANC Provincial president, Gian Singh, has sought immediate intervention of the Chief Minister to avert the crisis and provide relief to the people of the Jammu region by taking desired steps to deal with power crisis, especially in rural areas.
Singh stressed the need for taking urgent steps to improve the power supply by repairing and replacing the damaged transformers in most of the areas. “The repair of transformers in private factories is held up due to payment issues”, he said and stressed that adequate funds be earmarked for the same as erratic power supply is also affecting the water supply in these areas.
