JAMMU, Oct 29: In an awe-inspiring display of talent and marksmanship, the daughter of the soil, Aneesha Sharma, clinched the prestigious team Bronze medal in the Youth Women’s Rifle category at Asian Shooting Championships held in Changwon, Korea today.
Emerging as one of the most promising talents in the world of shooting, the 18-year-old Aneesha from Bishnah area of Jammu has created history for Jammu & Kashmir by not only becoming the first female shooter from J&K to earn her place to represent India in the highly anticipated Asian Shooting Championship but by also securing the coveted team bronze for India. Aneesha’s historic achievement signifies a new dawn for shooting sports in the Union Territory.
Jammu & Kashmir Rifle Association (JKRA), President, S.S. Sodhi said, “every member of the shooting fraternity across India and the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir are proud of Aneesha, whose dedicated effort has brought Jammu and Kashmir a place of pride among the medal winners in Asian Games.” Aneesha was a trainee of the Mission Olympics Shooting Academy, Jammu and was trained by Vishal Mehra and Aman Singh.
