REASI, May 9: A protest demonstration of Anganwari workers and helpers from Mahore, Arnas, Pouni and Reasi Projects was under the banner of J&K National Trade Union Front in front of office of District Development Commissioner, today.
Numbers of Anganwari workers held protest, raised slogans against the termination order of Anganwari Workers and Helpers issued by Director Mission ICDS, J&K and demanded that the termination order should be withdrawn immediately.
Addressing the protesters, Mohd Gafoor Dar, State president, J&K National Trade Union Front condemned the anti-worker and helper’s policy of ICDS Minister who with one stoke of his pen has snatched away service of thousands of workers and helpers.
The State president appealed Chief Minister and concern Minister of ICDS to withdraw the termination order of workers and helpers without any further delay so that the poor workers and helpers can get a sigh of relief. Other demands raised in the rally include enhancement of honorarium, increase in promotion quota workers and helpers, duty hours from 9.00 am to 1.00 pm and release of the pending honorarium of workers and helpers.
Other present were Ratna Devi, Tripta Devi, Rekha Devi, Sushma Devi, Lalita Devi, Vijay Devi, Anju Devi, Radha Devi, Priti Devi, Raj Kumari, Rubeena and Vaishno Devi.
