UDHAMPUR, Nov 5: District Udhampur Chess Association, organized district chess championship at Golden Wokk Restaurant, Dhar Road, here today.
Thirty players drawn from Udhampur district participated in senior and junior categories.
Ankush Bhardwaj won the title in open category, while Prataksh Bhardwaj was second and Rashiv Khajuria got the 3rd place.
In Junior category, Aryan Gupta got the 1st place, while Shrutam Chalotra got the second place and Mahi won 3rd place.
In girls’ category, Bhawna Sharma won the 1st place, while Divyanshi Rajput bagged second and Subashree got 3rd place.
Dr AS Bhatia,HoD Bio Sciences GMC Jammu and Advisor of All J&K Chess Association was the chief guest on the occasion who along with Dr Harleen Kour distributed prizes among the winners.
Also present on the occasion was Satpal Sharma, President Udhampur District Chess Association along with other guests. Rohit Bhardwaj conducted all the matches under FIDE Laws of chess.
