PATNA, Apr 11: Leader of the opposition in Bihar Assembly Tejaswi Prasad Yadav today came down heavily on Nitish Kumar government for only making announcements, saying only its complete implementation and concrete steps would help in fighting against Corona pandemic.
Mr Yadav said it appeared that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar was more interested in making headlines of media rather than taking concrete steps to check the spread of Coronavirus infection. Only 5,457 tests were done for Coronavirus infection in a big state like Bihar has a population of nearly 13 Crores, he added.
“It is time to increase testing facilities as much as possible to identify Corona positive cases and concrete steps needed to check further spread of Coronavirus infections”, leader of the opposition said, adding that Government should start massive sanitization of all panchayats, colonies and villages.
As per standard guidelines, villages and colonies should be sanitized at least twice a week, he further said and added that masks and sanitizers should also be distributed among the people.
Mr Yadav said that the government should come out with concrete information regarding stock of Personal Protective Equipments (PPEs), testing kits, masks and ventilators as these were essentials to fight the threat of Coronavirus infection. Policemen should also be given PPEs, he demanded. (UNI)
