JAMMU, Apr 26: Ist annual athletics meet of Cluster University of Jammu (CUJ) got underway at Government College for Women (GCW) Gandhi Nagar, here today.
The competition was declared open by Vice Chancellor of CUJ, Prof. Anju Bhasin. Dean Academic Affairs (DAA), CUJ, Poonam Dhawan was guest of honour while Registrar, Dr. Jatinder Khajuria was special guest.
The event is being organised by the office of Dean Students Welfare (DSW) in support with Sports Coordinator, Dr. Vinod Bakshi and PTIs, Sumnesh Sharma, Mahesh Sharma, Malik Aijaz, Dr. Rupali Salathia and Dr. Mandeep Singh, Ramesh Sharma (Retired SAI coach).
The Results: Men: 1500 mts: Abhishek, GGM Science College, Ist; Ajay Kumar of MAM College, 2nd and Kamaljeet Singh of GGM Science College, 3rd. 400 mts: Gourav Gupta, Harsh Balotra and Sourav of GGM Science College secured 1st, 2nd and 3rd position respectively. 800 mts: Nitin Sharma of SPMR College, Ist Gourav Gupta of GGM Science College, 2nd and Mohd. Ishfaq of Govt. MAM College, 3rd. 200 mts: Kamaljeet Singh of GGM Science College, Ist; Vishal Singh, SPMR College of Commerce and Ankit Choudhary of SPMR College of Commerce, 3rd.
Women: 1500 mts: Diksha of GGM Science College, Ist; Sonali of SPMR College, 2nd and Samina Akhter of GCW Gandhi Nagar, 3rd. 400 mts: Neeru Rani of GCW, Gandhi Nagar, Ist; Rakhi of SPMR College, 2nd and Pallvi Saini of GCW, Gandhi ; Nagar, 3rd. 800 mts: Ujala Mahajan of MAM College, Ist; Rakhi Kumari of SPMR College, 2nd and Diksha of GGM Science College, 3rd. 200 mts: Shikha Sharma of SPMR College of Commerce, Ist; Roshni Mahajan of MAM College, 2nd and Ruby Manhas of GGM Science College, 3rd.
