JAMMU, Dec 23: Two-day Annual Day celebrations concluded at Heritage School, here today.
The second and the final day saw the performance of children from Middle and Senior wing, giving all the children of the school a chance to be on the stage and be a part of the celebration.
Nasir Aslam Wani, Minister of State for Home, was the chief guest, while Dilbag Singh, IGP Jammu, was the guest of honour.
Mahima Sagar of Class XI who has been adjudged best speaker, presented the welcome address.
The programme began with lighting of the lamp followed by Saraswati Vandana.
‘Sojourn’ was the apt title for the 2nd day of annual day, which was an exciting and enticing peek into famous celebrated dances of the world.
Archana Sharma co-ordinator senior wing presented the Annual Report and shared with the distinguished gathering the commendable progress made by the school in last few years.
To acknowledge and motivate the talent inherent in the Heritageans who had brought accolades to the school in field of academics, sports, music, drama, debates etc at State and National level, prizes were distributed among them.
The chief guest gave away the prizes to the meritorious students. Blazers and scholarship badges were awarded to the students who had excelled in academics. Outstanding achievements of the students in the field of sports, art, music and drama were also acknowledged and awarded.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister opined that a school has an important role in shaping the personality of the child and expressed his faith in the ability of Heritage School to perform this task to its best.
The programme concluded with vote of thanks presented by the Principal, Heritage School, Jagadish Singh Dhami.
