KATRA, Apr 18: The Annual Cultural and Sports Festival of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) namely ‘Resurgence’ was inaugurated at Matrika Auditorium of the University, here today. R K Gupta, Principal Secretary to the Governor of J&K was the chief guest on the occasion, while Ajay Khajuria, Registrar of the University and Dr Yugal Khajuria, Dean of Students were present in the function.
The programme began with the lighting of the traditional lamp by the chief guest and the other dignitaries.
Dr A K Das, Coordinator of Resurgence delivered the welcome address.
Registrar gave his best wishes to the participating students and the chief guest, Mr Gupta encouraged the students to participate in such activities and interacted with them after the inaugural function.
20 cultural events are being organized in this Festival for which several teams from different parts will be participating.
