UDHAMPUR, Dec 15: Five days Annual Sports meet of trainees concluded at Sher-i-Kashmir Police Academy (SKPS) here.
On the occasion, Mohammad Sulaiman Salaria, Additional Director General of Police, Director Sher-i-Kashmir Police Academy Udhampur was the chief guest, who witnessed the final of Tug-of-War game of the tournament. He gave away the trophies, medals and certificates to the winners and runner up of the tournament.
While speaking, Mohammad Sulaiman Salaria said that during the conduct of the tournament various committees were constituted to ensure smooth conduct of the tournament. During the tournament various sporting events including basketball, football, volleyball, handball, weight lifting, tug-of-war, athletics, kabbadi and shooting competition were held and the trainees including lady BRTC, DySP (Probationers), Probationer Sub Inspectors, Lower Class Course actively participated.
Director SKPA said the importance of sports in daily life for police personnel and particularly during the training period is of paramount importance, as it keeps them mentally and physically fit, adding that talent hunt done during this sports event will lead to formation of good teams in various categories of games which will compete in the zonal level games competitions to be organized by Police Headquarters J&K soon. Director promised to provide all necessary infrastructure required in sports for betterment of sports culture in the Academy.
He was accompanied by Stanzin Norboo, Assistant Director (Administration), Randheer Singh, Assistant Director (Outdoor) and Murtza Nasir Assistant Director (Indoor).
Among others present were Pankaj Sudan DySP (Q), Bharat Bushan DySP (Admn), KK Sharma DySP (R&D), Vidya Sagar DySP (Outdoor), Ramesh Chander DySP (PS) SKPA Udhampur, Gazetted and non Gazetted officers of the Academy.
