JAMMU, Dec 3: The Annual Sports Week, ‘Sports Keeda,’ began with great enthusiasm at Indira Gandhi Government Dental College (IGGDC), Jammu. The event was inaugurated by the Principal and Dean, Dr. Parveen Akhter Lone, who underscored the importance of sports in enhancing life skills such as teamwork, leadership, accountability, patience and self-confidence. Dr. Lone emphasized that sports play a crucial role in promoting physical and mental well-being, preparing individuals to tackle life’s challenges effectively.
The week-long event will feature a range of sports activities, including Table Tennis, Carrom, Chess, Tug of War and Cricket, with participation from undergraduate and postgraduate students, teaching faculty, administrative staff and paramedical staff.
The Sports Week aims to foster a sense of camaraderie and healthy competition among the participants. The organizing committee includes Dr. Nitin Gautam, Dr. Monica Kotwal, Dr. Satvinder Singh, Dr. Mandeep Kaur, Dr. Vineet Kotwal, Dr. Nanika Mahajan, Dr. Amrit Pal Singh, Dr. Rudra Kaul and Dr. Ritesh Gupta, under the guidance of Dr. Parveen Akhter Lone.
