JAMMU, Oct 5: Annual Wrestling Championship was organized in the memory of Peer Baba at Badyal Brahmana (Deriyan) today.
Prominent social worker and SSP (retd) Bhupinder Singh was the chief guest on the occasion. The Championship was organized by Ch Sampooran, Ch Puran, Ch Vijay, Bihari Lal, Ch Raman and Ch Kamal.
In the first competition, wrestler Jagroop Singh of Amritsar beat Jeeta of Jallandhar while as in the second competition Kaka Ram of R S Pura defeated Amar of Amritsar.
Speaking on the occasion, chief guest said, “such events provide a great opportunity to the budding sportsmen, who are interested to participate in the wrestling events”, adding “sportsmen strengthen the communal harmony”.
