Ansari inaugurates District Thang-Ta Championship

SRINAGAR, Nov 5: The 2 days long District Srinagar Thang Ta Championship 2016, which was organized by District Srinagar Thang Ta Association under the banner of J&K State Sports Council was inaugurated by Minister of Sports, (Vice President) J&K State Sports Council , Molvi Imran Ansari at Indoor Sports Complex, Srinagar , which will run for 2 days on 5th to 6th November 2016 .
200 Boys and Girls from all over the district took part in this championship. The medalist of the championship will get berth in the State championship and will be the final selection for the 22nd national Thang Ta Championship 2016, which is scheduled to be held at Hyderabad.
The Sports Minister witnessed the fights bouts of the different weight categories of the Championship. Speaking on the occasion the Minister said that I am very happy to see the mass participation of boys and girls in the Thang Ta martial arts and he also interacts with all the players and assured them his full help and support by way of providing the kits, Mats and other Thang Ta sports material in favor of the players.
Among others present on the occasion were  Secretary, Sports Council, Waheed ur Rehman Parra, Anjun Fazili, MLA, Madam Nayeema Mehjoor, Chairman, Womens Commission, Sports Officer Kashmir, Mushtaq Ahmad, Manager Bakhshi stadium, Nusrat Gazala and Manager Indoor stadium, Tulal Ahmad , M. Iqbal Coach and Ayjaz Ahmad Bhat Coach and the officials of J&K Thang Ta Association and Sports Council.
