ANTF arrests 3 persons with 7 kgs cannabis

JAMMU, July 24: The new wing of Crime Branch Anti Narcotic Task Force (ANTF) Jammu arrested three persons along with 7 kilograms of cannabis.
This was stated by Superintendent of Police (SP) ANTF Vinay Sharma.
Divulging the details, Sharma informed that specific information was received that some deal is being struck at Transport Yard Narwal where a truck bearing Number JK03G-3911 has been parked by the drug dealers who have come from Kashmir.
“On receiving this information, ANTF team swung into action and started a search operation for the specific truck and the drug dealers”, SP said, adding that finally the team located the truck and three persons who were identified as Fayaz Ahmed Ganai, son of Ghulam Hassan Ganai of Hasanpura, Brijbehara, Danish Shafi, son of Mohd Shafi Ganai of Allai Mohallah Hasanpura Brijbehara and Sonu, son of Krishan Lal of Chand Nagar district Jammu were arrested along with 7 kilograms of cannabis.
SP informed that the deal was being struck between the suppliers from Kashmir and the purchaser from Jammu, adding that ANTF has thus been able to break this drug cartel which was the main supplier of cannabis to the innocent youth of Jammu who were falling trap to drug addiction.
A case has been registered under relevant sections of law and ANTF is investigating further links, SP Vinay Sharma maintained.
It is pertinent to mention here that since its inception, ANTF, a recently created specialized wing of Crime Branch, has been able make successes in anti narcotic operations and made big recoveries of narcotics back to back.
