Anurag Thakur elected BCCI secretary

SHIMLA : Cricketer turned politician Anurag Thakur today elected the secretary of Board of Cricket Control of India (BCCI) who was also holding charge of Joint secretary of BCCI, president of Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association, president of Bharatiya Janta Party Youva Marcha and Lok Sabha MP from Himachal Pradesh.   There is mixed response among the people state over elevation of Mr Thakur top cricketer body as at one end Vribhadra Singh Government has booked the MPs in various corruption cases to get favour former BJP govenrment led by Prem Kumar Dhumal who is Chief Minister.   State Government booked the due of father and son in various cases for giving undue benefit to demolish a building of state education department and registering HPCA under companies act and getting favour under societies act.   Among the enthusiasts of sports and cricketers in particular elevation of Mr Thakur in BCCI is matter of pride to them and this hill state.

Mr Thakur has been credited to work hard to make international cricket stadium at Dharmshala and also held number of ODI there.

Anurag became the youngest President of Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association at the Age of 25 years. In May 2008, he succeeded his father when he was elected as member of parliament of India from Hamirpur constituency. He is credited of making Himachal Pradesh capable of hosting international standard cricket at HPCA Stadium in Dharamshala.

Anurag had been given responsibility of president of BJYM by erstwhile president Nitin Gadkari .   Mr thakur had been selector at the age of 26 years in the year 2001 to select Indian Junior Cricket teams.
