JAMMU, Sept 14: Army Public School Akhnoor organized two days Northern Command Annual Principal Meet 2017.
The Meet was attended by Chairmen, Staff Officers and Principals of Army Public Schools of Northern Command and one Principal each from other 5 commands.
The Meet was chaired by Lt Gen Paramjit Singh Sangha, COS Northern Command.
The programe started with lighting of lamp. Meet started with welcome address by Maj Gen MK Mago, Patron APS Akhnoor followed by inaugural speech by COS Northern Command.
Academic Excellence Rolling Trophy was presented to APS Akhnoor, Sports to APS Udhampur and Co-curricular to APS Nagrota. Main focus of day one was Best Principal Award, which was awarded to KCS Mehta, Principal APS Akhnoor, Best Teachers Award was presented to Ankur Singh Jamwal (PGT), Ashok Kumar Sharma (TGT) from APS Akhnoor and Meena Sharma (PRT) from APS Udhampur. The honour was done by COS Northern Command. Topics discussed were Major issues & challenges facing by Army Public Schools by Mr KCS Mehta Principal APS Akhnoor.
The second day started with visit of school by Col (Retd) Deepak Gupta, Director AWES Schools, HQ New Delhi.
He interacted with students, teachers in classes, labs and Science Park.
The presentations were presented by on the subject ‘Balanced grooming of students: A need of the hour’ by Ruchi Bahl, Principal APS Nagrota; ‘Helping adolescents deal with peer pressure’ by Shaswati Ghosh, Principal APS Rakhmuthi; Helping the struggle (slow) learner to learn a language by Sanjeev Kumar, Principal APS Udhampur; ‘Management of adolescence’ by Imtiyaz Ahmed, Principal APS Srinagar and ‘Role of activities in learning’ by Rajeev Kumar Choudhary, Principal APS Dhar Road.
Many agenda points given by Principals of various schools were discussed in the open forum.
In closing address, Patron of school expressed his compliments to all Chairmen for their involvement in school development.
He advised all the Principals to implement the good things which they discussed and acquired from the discussion presentations.
Vote of thanks was presented by Brig Gautam Segan, Chairman APS, Akhnoor.
Guest Principal from other commands were Arti Sharma Principal APS Kriki from Southern Command, Dr Suchitra Bhattacharya Principal APS Kolkata from Eastern Command, Dr Ashok Kumar Principal APS Lansdowne from Central Command, Mr George Principal APS Unchibassi from Western Command and Anisha Ghuman Principal APS Bathinda from South Western Command.
