SAMBA, Apr 18: Defeating their rivals convincingly in their respective summit clashes, Army Public School, BD Bari and Humanity Public School, Bassi Kalan lifted Basketball boys and girls titles, which are as part of the Samba District Inter-School Tournaments, being organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports at Humanity Public School, here.
The Tournament for Under-14 and Under-17 boys and girls in the disciplines of Basketball and Speedball are being held under the overall supervision of Sunil Kumar, District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Samba.
Principal HPS Samba, Gourav Singh Charak was the chief guest on the opening ceremony, while Anku Charak was the guest of honour.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were ZPEOs HK Koul, Rakesh Kumari and Pardeep Kumar.
Earlier, in Basketball boys final, APS BD Bari defeated Humanity Public School by (16-05), while in Basketball girls summit clash, HPS Bassi Kalan drubbed MV International School by (14-04).
The Basketball matches were officiated by Dalbir Singh, Mohit Jamwal, Dhnraj Singh and Amit Sharma, while the Speedball matches were officiated by Navjyoti Slathia, Sanjay Gupta and Kiran Bala.
