JAMMU, Apr 29: Army Public School (APS) Damana celebrated 37th AWES Raising Day with great enthusiasm and fervour in its school premises, here today.
To mark the occasion, a special assembly was organized in which Deepakshi Gupta, PRT, apprised the children about the paramount educational facilities provided by Army Welfare Education Society.
The students were also briefed about the sincere initiatives taken by AWES for its commitment to provide quality education at affordable cost.
Throughout the day, plethora of co-curricular activities were conducted like Inter House Rangoli Making Competition (Middle and Senior Category) displaying various themes; Inter House Clay-Modelling Competition (Classes III-V) and Inter Class Origami Competition (Classes I and II).
The students of classes X – XII had a live interaction with Sudir Dewan, Director North, MOHAN Foundation, Chandigarh, who renders his services in the field of deceased organ donation and transplantation.
During the on-line session, the students were sensitized about Multi Organ Harvesting Aid Network (MOHAN) which also honours organ donor families.
During the prize distribution ceremony, Pushpinder Kaur, Principal of the school felicitated the students who won accolades in All India 6th Korea-India Friendship Essay Competition and Sahodaya Patriotic Song Competition. She also congratulated the students who have recently participated and emerged as winners in literary events like Behes and Vox Populi.
