APS Damana organises ‘Musical Retreat’

JAMMU, Oct 13: Army Public School Damana in association with ‘SPIC MACAY’ J & K, organized a ‘Musical Retreat’ with Kalapini Komkali, a well known and trained classical vocalist, in its School premises, here today.
The programme commenced with the lighting of ceremonial lamp followed by bouquet presentation and welcome address.
SPIC MACAY is a society for the promotion of Indian Classical Music, Folk Art, Heritage etc in the schools and colleges so as to make students aware about Indian and World Heritage.
The other team members of the organization, present on the occasion were Dr Sapna K Sangra, State Chairperson, Shambunath Bhatacharya, Tabla Player and Chetan Nigam on Harmonium.
The programme was also attended by a galaxy of Army officers, staff members and students of APS Damana.
Brig Abhijit Chandra, SM, Chairman APS Damana was the distinguished guest on the occasion.
Dr Renu Gupta, Principal, APS Damana expressed her satisfaction and gratitude to the entire team of SPIC MACAY. The programme, which was a part of International School Award (ISA) Theme V – Harmonious Blend of Culture and Heritage, concluded with the singing of National Anthem.
