JAMMU, Aug 19: Army Public School (APS) Damana hosted the Inter-APSs (Cluster 1) Badminton Competition for boys and girls for the Session 2017-18 at Police Auditorium, Gulshan Ground, here with great delight and fervour.
The chief guest on the occasion, Brig Abhijit Chandra, Sena Medal, Chairman, Army Public School Damana along with Lt Col Rajesh Kumar, SO School and Dr Renu Gupta, Principal APS Damana were given a cordial welcome by Anmol Warikoo of Class XI and Aprajita of Class XI which was followed by the Oath taking ceremony.
The Competition was declared open by the chief guest by tossing the coin. Eight Army Public Schools under Cluster-1 which participated in the Competition included APS Jammu Cantt, APS Kaluchak, APS Miran Sahib, APS Ratnuchak, APS Sunjuwan, APS BD Bari, APS Samba and APS Damana.
The 3-day Tournament started on August 17, 2017 and concluded today. The teams of APS Kaluchak, APS BD Bari, APS Ratnuchak and APS Jammu Cantt entered the semifinals and the final match was played between APS Kaluchak and APS Jammu Cantt in which the trophy of Inter APSs (Cluster 1) Badminton (boys & girls) Competition 2017- 2018 was clinched by APS Jammu Cantt.
The winning team was felicitated by the chief guest on the occasion.
The vote of thanks was presented by Gagandeep Bedi, Senior Scale Physical Education Teacher.
