JAMMU, Nov 2: To be a leader, one’s actions need to inspire others to dream more, learn more and do more.
The young talents of APS Dhar Road were bestowed with the responsibilities during the Investiture Ceremony.
The inspired student council pledge to lead their school from the front with commitment, confidence and competence.
Brigadier Vikas Gupta graced the event as the chief guest.
The chief guest and the Principal, Jyoti Bedyal were invited to formally confer the prefects with their duties.
Head Boy (Lakshit Dutt) and Head Girl (Diya Sharma) received their appointment badges from the chief guest. They were followed by other council bearers; Vice Head Boy (Aditya Chambyal), Vice Head Girl (Anita Devi), Cultural Captain (Poonam Sahu) Cultural Vice Captain (Eshu Gusain), Sports Captain Boys (Shashank Anand), Sports Captain Girls (Lovreen), Discipline Captain (Aakarshit), Discipline Vice Captain (Aarya), Beas House Captain (Abhinandan), Vice Captain (Surbhi), Chenab House Captain (Arjun), Vice Captain (Priya), Jhelum House Captain (Dhruv), Vice Captain (Deepali), Ravi House Captain (Imtiaz) and Vice Captain (Prachi).
The house captain will deliver under the guidance of House Mistress Santosh (Jhelum House), Bablu (Ravi House), Pooja Verma (Chenab House) and Preeti (Beas House).
They pledged to deliver to their responsibilities with zeal, determination and dedication. The student council then took the oath of office to discharge their duties with sincerity and fulfill everyone’s expectations.
In his address, the Chief Guest Brigadier Vikas Gupta congratulated the members of cabinet and emphasized that with power comes the responsibility. He acknowledged the student council as an investment in being leaders of tomorrow. He asked the newly elected members to imbibe the qualities of sincerity, diligence and decision making.
Principal of the school, Jyoti Bedyal presented vote of thanks.
The programme ended with presentation of National Anthem.
