APS Kaluchak hosts ‘BEHES’ On-Spot Team Debate Competition

AJMMU, Apr 27: An On- the-Spot Inter-School Team Debate Competition was held at APS Kaluchak, organised by BEHES, today.
The aim was to enable the students to sift the knowledge, comprehend, analyse and prepare script with strong arguments in a planned and organized manner.
The endeavour was to develop a child into competent rational thinker who would communicate with confidence.
The entire campus was replete with an air of excitement, enthusiasm, zest and zeal. Every topic given was a challenge for speakers and they geared themselves suitably for their turn to debate on.
All the contestants put forth their views and arguments skilfully and convincingly on the topics given on the spot.
83 teams from eleven schools participated in the competition. 249 contestants were divided into two groups-The Lions (age group 14-18yrs) and the Cubs (age group 10-13yrs).
The two days event which commenced yesterday concluded today.
The budding debaters from the multifarious educational establishments left an indelible impact on the adjudicators.
The glittering winner’s trophy was held aloft by Achyutam Sharma, Isobel Tabitha and Vaanya Vyas of KC International.
Umika Sharma of APS Damana was adjudged as the best Cub speaker of the tournament and APS Kaluchak was the runners-up in Cubs category. Saleem Hussain of APS Jammu Cantt got the best speaker award amongst the Lions and MHAC Nagbani won the winner’s trophy. Hem Lata Vishen, Principal, APS Kaluchak, accentuated that the event enabled the children to come to terms with their extraordinary vocal skills and have left everyone awestruck with their logical thinking and reasoning.
