Jammu, Oct 27: Army Public School (APS) Nagrota celebrated its Annual Day with grandeur, featuring a range of cultural performances and honoring academic and extracurricular achievements. The event was attended by prominent guests, including Lieutenant General Navin Sachdeva, GOC 16 Corps, Senior Patron of APS Nagrota, who served as the chief guest.
Major General Shailendra Singh, Chief of Staff, Headquarters 16 Corps, attended as the guest of honour. Also present were Dr. Reena G. Sachdev, Zonal President of White Knight AWWA, Namita Singh, Zonal Vice President of White Knight AWWA, and Brigadier Anurag Tyagi, Chairman of APS Nagrota.
The program began with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony, followed by an impressive welcome dance. Principal Ruchi Bahl then presented the annual report, highlighting the school’s achievements in academics, co-curricular activities and infrastructure.
A series of cultural performances captivated the audience, including a Nritya Natika, a dance drama on the mythological tale of Samundra Manthan, which showcased the students’ talent and dedication. The event also celebrated academic excellence, recognizing the top performers in the Class 10 board exams. Additionally, students who excelled in sports at the cluster and national levels were honored, and the best house was awarded, with special recognition for the Captain, Vice Captain and teacher in-charges.
In his address, the chief guest praised APS Nagrota for its commitment to holistic education and encouraged students to strive for excellence in all their endeavors, upholding values of discipline, integrity, and hard work.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Vice Principal Avinash Mahajan, followed by the National Anthem, marking the end of a memorable celebration.
