SRINAGAR, Sept 16: Army Public School, Srinagar (APS) has captured Northern Command Inter Army Public School Football Tournament (2013-14) trophy by winning the finale of the tournament held at APS Nagrota, Jammu.
The tournament was conducted by AWES, in which six Army Public Schools of Northern Command-APS Udhampur, APS Akhnoor, APS Dhar Road, APS Rakhmuthi, APS Srinagar and the host APS Nagrota participated with full zeal, sprit and enthusiasm. Winner team of APS Srinagar was trained and accompanied to Nagrota with senior PTI of the school. Hardev Singh Cheema.
In the semi final match of the tournament which was played between APS Srinagar and APS Udhampur, a remarkable victory was achieved by APS Srinagar with a goal difference of 4-0. Basit Bhat of Class X of APS Srinagar scored maximum goals in the tournament.
In the final match, APS Srinagar maintained its winning streak by defeating the host team APS Nagrota by 2-1. The final match was equally contested by both teams and the spectators were thrilled by display of the skill by the players. The APS Srinagar football team received a grand reception and welcome by the school Principal, Staff and Students. Principal Sandeep Marhatta felicitated the team and Sports teacher for their level achievement and expressed the hope that the team would exhibit its mettle and talent successfully in future.
