JAMMU, Apr 7: Army Public School Kaluchak undertook ‘Vidyanjali Yojana’- an initiative taken by the Ministry of Education, Govt. of India, here today.
The School rendered its humble assistance by collaborating with a Govt. School in its vicinity and participated in voluntary School service to contribute towards the exchange of requisite material and equipment to strengthen the selected Govt-aided institution.
This initiative was executed in true letter and spirit under the aegis of Brig GPS Johal, Chairman APS Kaluchak and was launched by Puja Sharma, Vice Principal of the School. The School collaborated with Govt. Higher Secondary School located in Kaluchak paved the way towards bolstering the quality of education, infrastructure and amenities in the opted school.
The initiative connected 35 children from grade VII and VIII with the School and provided them the much-needed opportunity to connect, reflect, share and also encouraged them about the dire need of developing scientific temperament, cultivating rationality, inquisitiveness, open-mindedness, critical thinking and objectivity so as to enable them to be at par with others.
The highlights of this initiative were: Distribution of books for cultivating a habit of healthy reading amongst the children. Visit to all laboratories (Physics, Chemistry and Biology) in order to provide a ‘hands-on’ experience to the learners and to present the complex concepts in a lucid manner to enhance its coherence and others.
The major hallmark of the initiative was the utilization of Atal-Tinkering Lab where the children of APS Kaluchak presented their National-level Science Model to provide representations of the technological and scientific concepts to make the ideas more understandable.
They taught the children the dynamics of assembling and dismantling a model, its working mechanics and the varied innovative ideas used for its creation.
